Brake chamber MAZ - purpose and characteristics
The brakes of the front wheels of MAZ vehicles are driven by MAZ diaphragm brake chambers, when the service brake system is turned on
Brake chambers with spring accumulators are designed to actuate the brake mechanisms of the wheels of the rear and middle (for MAZ-64227) axles when the working, parking and spare braking systems are turned on. MAZ brake chamber — purpose and characteristics. - R A A M
When the service brake system is turned on, the brakes are driven by the rods of the diaphragm brake chambers, the design and principle of operation of which practically do not differ from the front brake chambers.
When the parking brake system is applied, compressed air is released from the cavity under the piston. The piston, under the action of the power spring, moves downward and moves the pusher, which, through the thrust bearing, acts on the diaphragm and the rod of the brake chamber, as a result of which the vehicle is braked.
